We bid farewell to the F12 Berlinetta and in exchange Ferrari has debuted the successor of the Berlinetta online over the weekend. The Ferrari 812 Superfast will make its official public debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
Even if the name sounds like a toddler came up with it, we are still loving that Ferrari has stayed with the naturally-aspirated V12 front engine configuration. The 488 has made the change to a turbo engine and it is looking to be an industry standard moving forward. The V12 has and will always be one of the most loved Ferrari engines with the iconic screaming 12 cylinders.
What we do know so far about the 812 Superfast is that Ferrari says it will make more power than the Berlinetta which would be expected. Maximum power output comes at 8,500rpm and maximum torque peaks at 530lb-ft at 7,000rpm
The 0-62mph will be in the range of 2.9 seconds and the top speed of the 812 will be 211mph which is no couch potato from the Italians. We will see electronic power steering which looks to be the first for Ferrari and Virtual Short Wheelbase which is Ferrari’s clever way of saying four-wheel steering just like the F12 TDF.
