Alfa Romeo Returns To Formula 1 with Sauber

Alfa Romeo has been absent from the world of Formula 1 for over 30 years but starting 2018 the car maker is back in the pinnacle of motorsports, Formula 1. Alfa Romeo will be the title sponsor of the Sauber Formula 1 team in 2018, the deal came about with Sauber confirming a partnership earlier this year with Ferrari.
The deal with Alfa Romeo which is part of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group will work hand in hand with Sauber to push them forward in the 2018 season with help in the areas of commercial and technological cooperation. The team will carry the name Alfa Romeo Sauber and will flaunt the iconic Italian company logo.

Fiat and Ferrari CEO Sergio Marchionne has been quoted on the partnership, “This agreement with the Sauber F1 Team is a significant step in the reshaping of the Alfa Romeo brand, which will return to Formula One after an absence of more than 30 years.”
