Amazon to spend $970 million on electric vehicles

On Monday, Amazon announced that it will be investing close to $1 billion, in electric vehicles for its European fleet.
By 2025, the investment would enable the corporation to operate more than 1,500 long-haul electric trucks in addition to the 3,000 electric delivery vans it currently operates.
Amazon intends to achieve zero net carbon emissions by 2040.
According to Amazon, it also plans to use centrally situated delivery stations to increase the number of goods delivered on foot and by e-cargo bikes.
The business said that it already runs such centers in 20 major European cities.
According to Amazon, the investment will spur industry innovation and stimulate the development of more public charging stations, allowing the transportation sector as a whole to reduce emissions more swiftly.
