Chevy Reveals ZL1 Racecar

Chevy recently released the brand new ZL1 race car for the the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. The ZL1 will replace the current Camaro SS racecar. The ZL1 will make its’ debut on track in February at Daytona. The Chevy will continue to race against the Ford Fusion and Toyota Camry.

The ZL1 will have a V8 90-degree engine that resembles the street going version but other than the number of cylinders and orientation of the engine that is where the similarities stop. The NASCAR engine will create roughly 900 horsepower compared to the 650 horsepower street going version.
“The new Camaro ZL1 is a great-looking race car with a lot of heritage behind it, which will make it a big hit with fans,” say Jimmy Johnson
“And as someone who’s enjoyed the ZL1 on the street, I’m really looking forward to getting this new race car on the track.”
