Lamborghini in the past has brought you a sport utility vehicle, well it wasn’t in the recent past. We are talking about the 1970s when the LM002 hit the market. The Lamborghini LM002 was a little rough around the edges and almost had not ques of what Lamborghini was at the time or where they were going in the future. The LM002 was more of a Hummer H1 shape.

Feast your eyes on the latest from the Italian supercar maker, Lamborghini. A 650-HP Super Sports Utility Vehicle (SSUV). The Lamborghini Urus will pack a 650-hp V8 twin-turbo engine with 4 wheel drive. This is only the second car Lamborghini has made with a front engine configuration. The other being the LM002. Lamborghini needs a high torque output engine to move the much larger vehicle from their other lighter weight super cars. So Lamborghini was not able to use the V10 or V12 engine and opted for a more torque and powerful Audi derived 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 that is tuned just for Urus to 650-hp.

The Urus has been in the works for quite a bit of time and it is perfect timing for Lamborghini to unveil their latest creation with Rolls Royce and many other exotic car makers debuting SUV’s this year and some already hitting the market with theirs. But, this one is special. The Urus is the first Super Sports Utility Vehicle to ever hit the market. Yes, Lamborghini had a few issues along the way making the transition from sports car to designing and implementing a SUV into their lineup. But, for the most part the reviews so far are great.
