The Porsche LMP1 program in 2018 will be doing a farewell tour of their LMP1 Porsche 919. This past weekend the team took to the historical Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. The 919 will be on a quest to break track records all over the world, the team has taken the 919 that won Le Mans last year and gave its’ engineers free reign to design the perfect track machine. The 919 Evo is free of technical regulation by the World Endurance Championship which it once competed in during it dominating years.
This weekend the 919 Evo took to Spa and completely obliterated the track record set by Lewis Hamilton last year during his pole winning lap. Lewis’s time was a 1:42.553 and the Porsche 919 Evo lapped Sap in 1:41.8.

The top speed that was clocked on track was 216.8 mph with an average speed around the circuit coming in at 152.6 mph. The coolest thing about this program is that this is not the last time we will see the 919 Evo, the team plans to go to the Nurburgring Nordshliefe next month in hopes to eclipse the overall track record set there.
