IMSA Driver Nails Most Insane Pass On Last Lap
During Sunday’s IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship at Laguna Seca Renger Van Der Zande took the win after an insane pass that most would only try in racing video games. Van Der Zande pilots the No. 90 Visit Florida Racing Ligier prototype while attacking the race leader Dan Cameron in the No. 31 Cadillac prototype into the famous Corkscrew turn at Laguna Seca.
Van Der Zande drops in on the inside of Cameron heading into the turn and takes the lead with a little over a minute left in the 3 hour long endurance race. This win brough the Visit Florida Racing team its’ first race win of the 2017 season and Van Der Zande’s first overall win in the IMSA series.
