The New Porsche 911 GT3 Cup

Published

on

After 2 years Porsche has finally released the brand new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Car.
With Volkswagen Group at the head of great discussion and having to reinvent its self, Auto Overload is happy to report that the German sports car company is set to move from the 997 platform to the more inexpensive operating cost 991 chassis for the cup series.
The great leaps in serviceability and lesser costs comes from the drivetrain needing less maintenance per hours running. The current platform needed an engine service every 40 hours of running and transmission service every 30 hours. The engineers at Porsche have stretched the life of the engine to 80-100 running hours and doubled the 30 hour transmission running time.
